I see they also have the 3T as well. $799 for the 5 and $699 for the 3T.
When did they start stocking these??

They have had a the 3t for a while. 5 is new at that price it must be the 64gig one.
It will be interesting when OP start selling in AU later this month, that means the correct type of power plugs for NZ/AU (however you can buy the oppo VOOC charger from jbhifi nz which is the same as the dash charger).

Hmm, interesting, you sure it's the same charger? I'd be keen..
Noel Leemings had them for $789 last week and I purchased one. Unfortunately they have removed the dash charger, and substituted a cheap generic USB charger, which is NOT dash compatible. They don't mention this in any of their advertising. I'd rather the original and a cheap plug adapter! Fortunately the VOOC charger from JBs works just fine - the little DASH icon appears on the phone when you plug it in; but you should factor the extra $30 into your price. It's an excellent phone!

Yes I can confirm...
Oppo and oneplus are actually the same company
The views expressed by me are not necessarily those of my employer

Really keen to buy an OP5, especially now that they're available at mainstream stores. However being parallel imported and with no official support, will this phone get over the air software updates like the versions overseas do? And do those updates have to go through the carrier first? As long as it has continued support it's an excellent buy for $800-850.
Mine received the recent 911 bug only recently reported update, even though it doesn't apply here shortly after purchasing - about 4 days ago!
I would think with Aussie (and hopefully NZ) falling into the support area it could only get better.
Oh! I'm on 2 degrees. current 4.5.6 oxygenOS. If you're worried that it's not pure Andriod, don't be. Aside from some subtle extras, it's all good.
Sounds good then, especially seeing as Aussie have had an official launch now. As long as it gets the vital software updates quickly ie the 911 Bug fix then I'm happy.
The 4.5.8 update bringing EIS to 4k video rolled out to NZ overnight. Nice to see they are getting here with timing the same as other countries, and bodes well for an official launch in AU and hopefully NZ.

They dont do carrier specific firmware - which is a good thing - so you will get OTA updates just fine. I have one and have had a couple of updates already.
For what it's worth, I complained to Noel Leeming that they had replaced the DASH charger with a generic, non DASH compatible USB charger, albeit with an NZ plug. I maintained that this diminished the advertised features, and they had not specified the substitution, and lack of DASH compatibility in product advertising.
The initial response was that the DASH charger was not compatible in NZ. I responded, NOT CORRECT - it was, - it is international 100-240v and that it only needed an inexpensive plug adapter, not replacing entirely with an incompatible charger, and I also pointed out the VOOC chargers was another possibility, and had an NZ plug.
Result: a dash charger is on its way to me. It pays to be alert to your consumer rights.

They should leave the charger in there and then just also throw in the standard ones they are replacing them with. PBtech etc does that.
What would be better however is if they did just supply the Oppo charger
