So.... I had a wee accident, and cracked, (or maybe shattered is a better description) the glass on the bottom right of my S8.  I know "officially" I can go to any authorized repair centre and they will charge me about $560 to replace, and I know with this I will get a warranty etc. But if I didn't want to pay $560, and accept the risk and all that goes with that..., (yes I know there are lots of reasons why one shouldn't do this, but lets not go there please) and wonted to find someone that would just replace the glass (the $560 is a complete replacement screen, not just the glass), does anyone know anywhere that does this, I've replaced many a broken screen no many different devices, but this is well beyond me.

Are the screen, glass and touch sensor all separate components or one indivisible item?

My mate who is VF Staff has smashed front and back and he is waiting for a viable way to repair it other than complete replacement.

Will advise if he finds an alternative way.

Depends your definition of "indivisible" to those that have repaired iphones/ipads and many other types of phones, you would all it indivisible, but with the right tools, equipment and experience the glass can be separated from the rest of the substructure and replaced.  Needs a special UV glue and VU lights etc...  check out YouTube and you will see its possible, but not easy....

If it's not affecting the operation of the phone you could chuck a screen protector over it in the meantime.

Otherwise:

I've used CallCom in the past, but they don't like the S8. You could ask them.
