Have just picked up my V8, having been a confirmed Samsung user up to now.

While it has an SD card, I cannot find any way to transfer photos etc from phone memory to card.

Am I overlooking something obvious, or is not a possibility.

Also, I am missing the option of assigning individual ringtones, but perhaps that is expecting to much on this price level

Any info is appreciated..

Thanks

DaveG

While you probably can't transfer photos you've already taken without a file explorer type program, is there a setting in the camera that allows you to save photos to the SD card?

No such option that I can find is present in the camera settings. Even for existing photos - using the file manager.....move photos type routine does not help as the SD card is not offered as an option for destination.

I chose this as the SD card seemed to offer a bigger memory possibility, but not having any joy in making it work.

Thanks for your response

What size is the SD card? Maybe more than the phone can handle?

Card is 32 GB

Have just, earlier today managed to get SD card synched to images in camera gallery so am happier now. Not 100% sure just how it occurred, but will go through it again and familiarise myself.

Thanks for responses smile

Was the SD card formatted for portable or internal storage when it was added to the phone?  Internal adds it to the system storage, meaning it is no longer seen as a separate media device.

To assign individual ringtones: Contacts > choose your contact > Edit contact > three-button menu > Set ringtone.

You're on to it Greg, I was just about to say the same thing. When the phone detects a new SD card it asks you how you want to treat it, as portable storage or internal storage.
