The specifications for this (finally) bezel-free Xperia have been leaked. Disappointing to see the glass back and no word on the 3.5mm audio jack, but, if leak is true, this 5.7" phone in the same-size body as my Galaxy S7 looks very promising!

You'd buy anything with a Xperia badge on it.

I thought Apple were the only ones who could do wireless charging? smile

LOL. Every time I read about xperia, @scottjpalmer is the first thing that came to my mind. I wonder if there will be Dual SIM available locally.

Me too. I nearly bought a XZ1 a month ago, but bailed at the last moment because of the bezels.

The Xperia Z2 remains my favourite phone of all time. In 2018, when those bezels are downsized - I'm in!

Roll on CES!

Phones don't get announced at CES.

All the new phone announcements from manufacturers will be at MWC (mobile world congress) in February

I actually couldn't care less about a bezel. Yes the phone may look more aesthetic but it doesn't change the functionality in any way.

My bad, roll on MWC!

Why is Sony bezel reduction a big thing for me? It's about keeping the phone small enough to pocket in jeans and to carry around, but increasing the display experience. The current XZ1 is as big as I want to go for physical size. If I could get a 5.7" screen in the same size hardware as the current 5.2" - that's a major win. The current Sony bezels add several unnecessary centimetres to physical size. It would be great to see this dead space utilised by screen (like so any manufacturers are now doing).

I like the balance, the grip-ability in landscape and the front facing speakers. So long as they can keep that with the reduction in bezels I'm ok and will consider replacing my beaten x compact.
