I thought would do a factory reset on my LG G4 and now its stuck on boot screen, damn not very good for 3 year old phone or is it normal, as I expect I will have an expensive repair bill.

Seriously of thinking of getting an iphone next time!

Bootloop. Google it. Start researching your next phone, because you're upgrading.

Yep bought a G4 off trade me and it bootlooped and after extensive research there is a very short term fix which involves taking phone apart and using a hair dryer to heat the SoC to try get the solder to adhere again. Unfortunately it's a waste of time. My advice is ditch it and get a new phone.

LG has had a class action lawsuit brought against them for this reason and funnily enough it effects a lot of different LG phones including the G5 and Nexus 5X

Yay got my phone back yesterday LG paid for a new mainboard even though it was out of warranty, so should be like a new phone.

I got my LG G4 back from repair all good. But now its keeps dropping wifi when turned off sleep when I wake it wifi returns OK nd will stay connected as long as you use it.
I've been in touch with LG NZ and they advised to return to where it was repaired and would be still covered under warranty.
Am I missing a some settings that I might try before returning it, to try and cure?
I will ring the Fonefix Monday to ask their advice and be prepared to return.

Sounds like you don't have wifi set to stay on during sleep. In my phone the setting is under settings then wlan then advanced. I'm guessing yours should be similar

Time for a new phone. Not LG I hope.

I had the bootloop issue on my, and my partners nexus 5x. Thankfully LG fixed it, but I vowed to never buy another LG phone after all the well known and publicized issues. They've handled it terribly.

My wife has my old G2 and no problems good camera battery life and still going strong,  that's the reason for me buying the G4 which was good until I had the boot loop problem.
