Gidday all,

So I bought one of these on eBay, and it's pretty damn awesome.

These things accommodate an LTE micro SIM. Aussie users report it's ok on Vodafone there, but it's not working here (at least, not plug and play).

The watch isn't reporting seeing Voda or 2degrees networks at all, in any network type setting (LTE, 3G or 2G) but does see Spark. Anyone tried a Spark SIM in one of these? If not I'll give it a spin and report.

Cheers,

Tony

It's an AT&T model so doesn't have the 3G or 4G bands required for use in NZ.

Best you will get is limited 3G coverage on Spark.

AU has different bands (850MHz 3G is more widely used by AU networks, in NZ this is Spark/Skinny only).

LG's site lists fewer bands, but then they have been known to list fewer bands than device hardware supports in the past.

If this is the case, it will be well suited to 3G on Spark or Skinny. 4G still a complete no-go for NZ though.

Gidday all,

Have thrown a Spark prepay SIM into it, and am happy to report that it works great so far.

Now I have to contend with Spark's god-awful prepay plans, which actually seem to have got worse in the ten years since I last used them!

Cheers all,

Tony
