My Nexus 5 has just spat the dummy and I need to buy a replacement phone.
I don't need a phone with all the fancy bells and whistles.
Has anyone had any experience with one of these?

Personally I wouldn't - only because of the fact you may never see a software update which will open you up to security issues (very common on these phones).
Maybe put an offer in to buy this off this Geekzone seller - runs stock Android and is more or less a Nexus type device so will see software updates in the future (via Android One): Xiaomi Mi A1

Ay Caramba - What a battery!
Thats fairly solid at 210g.
Looks like a clean Android install - The chinese makers generally seem to like to skin/customise the heck out of Android to make it look like an iphone.
Apart from the obviously missing band 28 (700 4g) frequency looks like excellent value.

The Ulephone website shows the phone as now having Android 8.1
In the notes, they say:
I see Motorola has just announced that their new model phones (G6) will get only one major update to Android - and one of the lower specd G6 models will get none.
Even buying a brandname seems no guarantee of updates these days - best you can often hope for is Lineage/Custom ROMs.
I suppose it also depends how long you will keep your phone as well.

My Ulefone Power 3S arrived from China, 6 days after ordering it ![]()
Am loving it.
Speedy delivery!
Was there an Oreo update for it?

No upgrade was provided - just 7.1.1
I'm sure I will get it once it is available.
Looks like there is an upgrade for it - http://ulefone.com/download/power3s.html
Though the info is a bit unclear. Not sure if I would be too keen on trying it based on their page.
Still 7.1.1 is pretty good.

Thanks.
I'll probably give an upgrade a miss at this stage.
UPDATE ON NEXUS
After much searching for my Nexus, I finally remembered that I had placed it in the freezer some 2 weeks ago ![]()
Switched it on and guess what? It appears to be working OK.
Wonder if I can get a duplicate SIM from VF and use 2 phones with the same number?
