My Moto Z Droid has having battery issues and it appears from the forums that a new battery will fix it. This is a video on how to do it but I am not game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiAx0JO_6U0

I can source but the battery but not aware who can be trusted to do the repair, ideally in Wellington.

Can anybody recommend a repair show?

Thanks

With something that densely packed I'd recommend getting Fonefix to do it since they're the official Moto repair agent.

Just an update. Fonefix said they could do it for $99 which I presumes includes a new battery. I am going to do that.

I did ask a Wellington place but they said it could cost $140 and I was supplying the battery! This is because they said it looked hard with having to use a hot air gun to soften glue, take off the screen etc.

As Motorola agents I am sure Fonefix know how to do that. The guys on Youtube seem to not have any problem :-)

Thanks

Fonefix said they would like to have the ability to have the phone unlocked. With all my Google accounts on the phone and personal email etc. I am somewhat reluctant to do that. I could delete the Google account which makes it messier for me when I get it back but will also have to delete all my personal email accounts and somehow all the password fill ins.

What do people normally do? In the old days there was a guest mode on an Android phone but that appears to be deprecated now.

It is present on my Moto Z. Mine is local stock however, if memory serves yours was the Verizon Droid flavour...?

That's true. I wonder why Verizon removed that feature?

I'm thinking if I change my Google password and Amazon password that should be okay. There are some cached passwords on Chrome but not for financial sites
