I got the email about it this morning, and the gomoney app advised of it as well.
Already moved my card over in the app. When I first checked the Google pay support page this morning ANZ was not listed as a supported bank, a few hours later it now is.
Good to see most of their cards being supported as well, unlike BNZ.

Hows it different than BNZ? Both seem to be Visa Debit card and any Visa Credit card.

But I just took a look and the MotoX Gen2 was supported in GM Wallet. Not that it is needed anymore ;)

Installed the app, and added my loyalty cards but not my bank cards as yet..... mainly because I have a query. If I load my bank card into the app, and I have a subscription to a Google service, will that service then try to use the bank card for its renewal ?

ie: My Google Photos sub has expired and I dont have enough in my Google account to cover it - I dont want it to use the bank card to cover it.

Iirc there was an option to allow the card to be used across all of your Google services.

Set it up this morning on my phone and no complaints easy to setup and works with my debit card.

Then decided to set it up on my smart watch(ticwatch pro) goes well setup works then a few hours later google pay has disabled it's self, I re-enable it and then a few hours again it disables it's self again. So I Google it only to find out for some reason google only enable google pay for Ware OS in select countries(a small selection of places that support google pay on phones).

Really Google WTF. Google Assistant all over again.

I signed into GoMoney yesterday and got the notification, so I migrated over and it seemed pretty simple.
However I seem to have two of my ANZ Debit Visa in the system now - the one that came over with ANZ and one that was already in Google for my Play Store purchases ..

Not sure why you say this. BNZ have had Google Pay for ages now. This whole "contactless" is new to one bank, not to the country.

Not even new to ANZ actually - they've had their own Mobile Wallet NFC solution for several years.

Not to mention that NZ is far ahead of many countries in the world when it comes to adoption of contactless. We're nowhere like Australia that leads the world, but certainly compared to markets like the US we're light years ahead.

Even then. Last year I used Google Pay on a shop in Victoria Building in Sydney and the person behind the counter was surprised one could pay with the phone...
