After a long run of Sony Xperias I'm ready for a change and I have been waiting for a Nokia flagship.
The 5 camera lenses are intriguing.
Roll on December 5 and cross your fingers . . .

I'll give you $200 for your Xperia. It's pretty old now.
Interesting. I wasn't aware of it - although I really liked the design of the copper/black Nokia, plus the fact that it is aluminium unibody rather than glass, which I think is a far better choice of materials. Glass is a dumb idea for the back of a phone IMV.
Hopefully the rest of the phone isn't compromised in any way as it seems to be focused (Excuse the pun) on the camera setup. No fancy zoom lens or wide angle, just fixed lens prime with a mix of b&w and colour and ToF.
Does Nokia 9 set off anyone elses trypophobia? everytime I see the camera setup my skin starts to crawl.
Anyway I saw a youtube vid earlier today of someone who got to play with a pre production model, their impression was that the camera could take solid photos but it had some bug/lag issues, and was slow, taking 10-15 seconds to process an image (there is something like 120MP worth of data to process iirc and not using the latest snapdragon hasn't helped), will software updates improve it to the point of being snappy, for the sake of who ever buys one I hope so.

Yes. A little bit at least. And still I'll probably get this phone as work are due to get me a new one, are tied to Spark, and I prefer stock Android over anything else.
It appears that according to Clove they won't get getting it until April - I wouldn't hold out much hope that Spark will get their act together and bring it to New Zealand unfortunately.

I do! https://www.sparknz.co.nz/news/nokia_9_pureview/
And to quote that page "The Nokia 9 PureView will be coming soon to Spark, Skinny and Harvey Norman."

It's a bit disappointing that I wasn't able to find a link on the Spark front page to that - I would have though it would be at least listed in the phones area as an 'phone soon to arrive' or something.

I'm really interested in this phone.
My HTC 10 is showing its age and has become very laggy, and battery life has become atrocious. I've been thinking about replacing it for a while, and people keep recommending things to me, but I'm really (probably overly) fussy about the UI and don't like the skins on Samsung or Huawei phones. They obviously sell very well (so it must be me and not Samsung or Huawei, right?) but when I pick one up and play with it for 15 minutes or so I always end up feeling frustrated.
Reviews say the Nokia 9 specs seem a little low compared to other flagships, but let's be honest - it's better than my HTC.
I'm hearing that it's going to be a "limited release" phone, although no idea of how limited, e.g. from androidauthority.com: "HMD said it would manufacture a set number of units and would not continue fabrication once stock runs out." Possibly because it's using last year's chip?
I'll certainly be keeping an eye on Spark's website though.

Going by the US pricing of just under $600 it will be about $1000 plus mark here. Looks interesting though.
