i know there are apps to do that but what about features built into both OS - possible or not possible?

if the devices are both yours use a cloud solution like One Drive, Google or Dropbox

Apple has an android app that does a one off, one way transfer, from android to iOS.

 

 

It will do contacts, photos and...?? not much else.
