Hi All who has Sony Android TV

Lately, when I turn on my Sony Android TV, rather than it is showing the dashboard, it automatically goes to the YouTube and load the video that I last saw..

Could some one please tell me how to make the TV to start the Sony home first that would be much appreciated

Thank you very much
Jacky

According to the Sony USA support site;

Change the Settings to Launch the Default App

Press the HOME button.
Select Settings.
Select Apps in the TV category.
Select the added app from Downloaded apps.
Select Clear defaults.
Select OK.
Watch TV after performing the settings above.
When a dialog is displayed, select OnAir, and then select Always.

Disclaimer: I don't have a Sony Android TV, but many Android devices. The above just resets the defaults.

I also have a Sony Android TV. I think I know what's going on.

When you turn the TV off from the remote, it's only going into a standby mode. The TV suspends the app, giving it a chance to save some state information (e.g. which video was playing).

When the TV comes out of standby, it restores the app that was running last. If the app saved any state information, it tries to pick up where it left off.

So if you were playing a YouTube video when you turned the TV "off", when you turn the TV on again, YouTube will launch and it'll try to resume the video. If you were watching Netflix, the Netflix app would launch.

If you want the TV to go back to the home screen when it turns on, you'll need to be at the home screen when you turn it off.
