Hi, just wondering if anyone has flashed any stock firmware recently on the S8?

I have what looks like a European/German variant of the SM-G950F standard S8 and would like to flash an NZ version before setting it all up and potentially finding issues with signal.

I've looked at this thread https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=215302 and downloaded the latest XNZ firmware from updato.

Before i go ahead and flash all the files i thought i would ask if anyone had done this and if it was still ok.

Phone will be used on Spark.

If i record correctly no phones in NZ use XNZ, it seems to be some random firmware that is created but not used.  XSA (AU) is used and non branded. non branded phones are sold in AU.

In NZ the phones use NZC, TNZ VNZ

Just as a question to the NZ firmwares(if I am allowed to hook in here):

TNZ= Spark?

VNZ=Vodafone

NZC= NZ generic?

Thanks

I ended up flashing the TNZ firmware as I'm on Spark. Didn't try anything else and it looks to be working fine.

Thanks @nitrotech, very clear. I'll get the TNZ then.

My Galaxy Tab S4 LTE version came with xnz as standard. I put a 2degrees SIM in it for giggles and it installed the stk for 2degrees. So it is a legit firmware.

@1eStar - STK stands for SIM tool kit not sure how this is related to the firmware version of the tablet

XNZ is 'unbranded'. Most of the connected tablets will run this CSC.

Unfortunately this type of flashing is not possible post the Note8.

You can flash anything you want but after it connects back to the internet it reverts to original firmware as per S/N &/or IMEI.

Settings>About Phone>Software information>Service Provider SW ver.
