The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7 G930A and these are the frequency bands it's compatible with:

3G UMTS: B1(2100), B2(1900), B4(AWS), B5(850) 3G TD-SCDMA: B34(2010), B39(1880)

4G FDD LTE: B1(2100), B2(1900), B3(1800), B4(AWS), B5(850), B7(2600), B8(900), B12(700), B18(800), B19(800), B20(800), B29(700), B30(2300) 4G TDD LTE: B38(2600), B39(1900), B40(2300), B41(2500)

Which network providers will these work with if any?

I wouldn't recommend it in NZ. It'll do 3G on Spark (and on Voda/2D in some locations) but will have limited 4G coverage.

No band 8 U900, major issue on Vodafone / 2degrees

NZ basically has two groups of frequencies you need to know about, based on the network.

Spark / Skinny
3G uses 850MHz and 2100MHz (urban areas only)
4G uses bands 3 and 28

Vodafone / 2degrees
3G uses 900MHz and 2100MHz (urban areas only)
4G uses bands 3, 7 and 28

As noted above, that S7 will work on Spark / Skinny, but that's it. It won't support Vodafone or 2degrees.

3G 2100 MHz (band 1) is being phased out. 850/900 (bands 5 and 8) is much more important now as many areas without 4G coverage will fall back onto these 3G bands.

For 4G:-

Spark also uses bands 7 and 40 for additional capacity in urban areas. Vodafone also uses band 1 for the same reason. It would be ideal to have those bands if you spend a lot of time in urban areas.

To get decent rural 4G coverage on 2degrees it is necessary to have band 8. But if not present then as above there is fallback to 3G band 8 anyway. If you spend a lot of time rurally then band 8 is a must.

Unfortunately, that's what the to search result in Google says when I search for "nz 3g bands".

I would edit my list above with additional info from subsequent posts, but it's been up too long and the forum won't let me.

Also note 3G support is actually important even if you have LTE coverage, since that phone will probably never support voLTE on NZ networks, so you'll be dropping down to 3G for calls.
