Can't decide between the Moto G8 plus and the Nokia 7.2 for my wife. Any thoughts? She's been happy with the Moto G1 and G5, but the G5 didn't last all that long - toddler dropped it a few times and the speaker doesn't work so well any more. It's not worth fixing though.
Nokia 7.2 is $550, maybe $500 on sale, and I can claim the GST back, so probably $450 or so. Moto G8 plus is about $450 sourced from the UK, assuming no duty is applied on entry (what's my duty says none applied but doesn't say if GST will be charged). So price is similar.
Both have basically the same specs - 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, big screen, decent cameras, NFC, and they look very similar. Some reviews prefer one, some prefer the other. Wife doesn't much care.
Moto G8 plus advantages: seems to have a very slightly better camera, a little cheaper, should get updates for at least a year, maybe two the G5 did well there.
Nokia 7.2 advantages: Android one so will get two years of updates, we already bought a couple of $10 cases for it in our last Amazon order because we had almost decided on it before the G8 was released, sourced locally so warranty could be easier
Is there any good reason to go for one over the other?
