I have an Alcatel 4024x running Android 6.

I have switched of data access as I do not use the phone for anything but calls and text.

I did not receive the CD message sent out last night.

Is this a problem with the phone or my settings?

My didn't either, not all phones can receive them

This is from a couple of years ago

And this is helpful as it may actually be turned off (if i am reading it right)

Incorrect answer. My wife has a pretty modern LG v40+ (or is it a v30+) and it didn't get it.

I didn’t think I received the message on my iPhone X, whereas my wife’s iPhone 7 received it. I later pulled down the notifications tab and it was there. I’m pretty sure that I didn’t do anything at the time to dismiss the message and certainly didn’t hear the tone on my phone... although I guess it’s possible that the sound was masked by my wife’s phone next to mine...?

They stopped sending CD messages ages ago - they now come on DVD.

Thank goodness they didn't put them on VCR

Out of the 6 iPhones in our house at the moment only one got it.

But then the cell coverage here is pretty bad.

When will they get these warnings working on wifi calling?

Not all phones will get this. Even many modern imported phones won't - but everything sold in NZ new by the networks will.

If you are using a parallel imported handset then you have a far greater chance of not getting the CD alerts!

My phone Xiaomi MI 9T (Adroid 10) has the option to turn on/off emergency alerts under 'Passwords and security / Emergency Alerts'. Perhaps yours does as well?
