I have a Spark mobile (for work) and a Vodafone (personal) mobile. Is it possible to have Whatsapp from both accounts on the one phone? I'm trying to get it so I can view my work Whatsapp on my personal phone.

I did try the Dual Messenger thing from Samsung on my personal phone, but found that de-registered Whatsapp on the work phone - which isn't what I want, I would still like Whatsapp on the work phone for when I'm using it. Or is this totally impossible?

Depending on the phone (e.g. Huawei screenshot) you can have an "App Twin" and have the same app running with two different data storage so you can have two accounts - but WhatsApp can only be on one phone at a time so if you do this then it will logout from the other phone.

You can't have WhatsApp on two devices. However if you use a desktop browser you can use web.whatsapp.com to log in.

I have put a browser on my Android Tablet which emulates a Windows browser and pointed it at web.whatsapp.com and then logged in that way to have the second instance of WhatsApp running.

Example browser that I'm using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtech.dexbrowser

Follow the instructions which involves scanning a qr code onscreen with WhatsApp using registered device to authenticate.

Edit: Links never work here's the link, you can cut and paste https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtech.dexbrowser

You will need to use Whatsapp Web for the 2nd account - just set this up in your web browser. You will need to use desktop mode for the browser to work on web.whatsapp.com

Only if your phone doesn't support twin apps - like the screenshot I've posted.

You only need a web browser if you want an account to be accessed from two different computers or smartphones.

If you have a Samsung the 'App Twin' feature is called dual messenger and supports what you're after.

That's what I tried (see original post) but it deregistered Whatsapp from the work phone, which isn't what I'm looking to do. But thanks anyway. Probably the web browser option is going to be my best bet, just a pity I can't do calling when using the web version.

Oh crap, thanks John. I totally forgot about that thread. Still, things may have changed since then :) (although it looks like not).

If your device is a Samsung, some like the galaxy S range have a "Secure Folder" you can effectively run a second set of apps in this secure folder completely independently of whats on the "main" phone.
