Nokia 9.3 Pureview.

Glorious phone on specs. Seems to have been well received. But will NZ get it??

Release date TBD

6.7" P-OLed 1440 x 2880 pixels 120hz Display (sounds good)
SD 865 Chipset, Adreno 650, again sounds good
6 or 8 GB Ram (6 is the base now and 8 is plenty, 12 is just not necessary imo)
108 MP, f/1.8, (wide), 1/1.33", 0.8µm, PDAF, OIS, again sounds great, another 1/133" sensor to compete with the best
Will Zeiss optics live up to being the 2nd best behind Leica lenses, for Nokia finally?
5000mah battery, much needed if you going to use 5g which is even more of a drainer than 4g. I have a setting on my phone which switches every connection off except wifi at home and base communications. I think this might be the go for 5g phones. But until we really have a network up and running without glitches, I think sticking to 4g is the go. Who needs 5g Speeds while not at home really? NEEDS not wants. Dont blame the phones blame the network imo for most glitches. We still in 5g infancy.

Im trusting the camera at those specs, 8k Im not falling for, I think its going to use the Samsung Bright S5KHM1 which is a 6k sensor (does do 8k upscaling).

Question is when is release date likely? September?

Pricing.........

If only it was running Windows, sigh. Never mind. Have never owned a Nokia that has let me down. The 6020 lasted near 10 years before I decided to buy a Lumia smartphone, which was great, until Windows dumped Lumia. Now we are stuck with Android. Never mind, the experience on Android one is what you make of it.

Will definitely be the best Nokia to date if it lives up to all this.

It's still not a confirmed official device as far as I can see so IP rating is unknown.

Nokia has been fairly good as a manufacturer with bringing devices over here. Other than some weird model numbers aimed purely at China and India I think all the rest made it here in some form eventually but take a couple of months to make the trip from the states.

Weirdly there low and mid range phones get very well received but the 9 pureview last year but so much. It was running an out of date chip at launch and struggled with processing that best of a camera array. The fingerprint reader was apparently awful and the cameras busy didn't match the hype. Hopefully this will be the flagship you'd more expect from a manufacturer who is quite well regarded in the lower price range.

Yep was running mid range hardware and a pretty ordinary camera in the end.

Im more hopeful this year it will be SD 865 and will use the Samsung bright 108mp sensor for main cam and hopefully the high end sony for the wide angle at 12mm.

I think its pretty much confirmed as a thing, even GSMArena lists what it knows so far.

One thing Ive always loved about Nokia is they are so darn tough and reliable. If it gets an IP rating, has the above hardware and is ~900-$1100 and gets favourable reviews it would be a hard device to turn down.

At the moment I have the 8 GB OP8 pro at $1200, and the Note 10 (which would actually replace my work phone) and throw in the Huawei p40 at only $1000 - $100 at 2deg at the mo and a watch. It has the best sensor. To be honest I wouldnt miss many of android apps. Most are junk apps with click bait adverts.

It was $1300, thats how I got confused, was $1295. How does that compare to local units though? Still sounds cheap.

I think its the best "value" phone so far this year. I would prefer a macro lens than the other lens though. Did they end up renabling? I didnt see the big deal, so what, it can see through layers of clothing somewhat, many lenses out there do this, but its quite a legitimate Genre and nobody complained about perverts until this phone. (Im pretty sure thats why they turned it off, or what I ready anyway)

if this "leaked" info is true, the Nokia 9.3 is shaping up to be a pretty darn good phone. I just hope they get the cameras right this time.

But the under display front facing camera may delay launch date;
