Spent many hours last night getting a video file on the phone (Note 5) to smart TV (Sony KD-75X8000G).

All instructions on Google were no help (maybe different Note 5 phone?) but eventually fluked it. But then the picture was the wrong orientation, Does anyone know how to rotate it?

orientation is detected when record it pressed, so if the phone hadn't changed orientation when it was started then the whole video will be tagged with the wrong orientation. Often happens with people who are obsessive about recording in landscape even tho that's not the natural way to hold a phone.

It probably depends on what you're playing it in and whether you can edit the file.

Some players will have the option to override the metadata. If this is not the case, then you might be able to edit the metadata to the correct orientation.
