My XCover 4S updated over the weekend (did anyone else's Android update?) to Android 11. No issues there, although a few settings needed re-setting and I'm mostly back to normal.

However, I've since found that my POP mail is not synching using the Samsung Email app. I had it set to check every 15 minutes, and it would dutifully display the envelope notification when there was a new e-mail.
Since the weekend, this simply isn't happening. I hadn't had anything since Saturday. Went into my e-mail tonight, lo and behold there were 4 e-mails in there, one from Sunday and three from yesterday.

I turned off and reactivated the synchronisation, and made sure it was set to 15 minutes. Sent a test from Gmail, nothing received. I go into the app and only then it syncs.

Added my Gmail account, same deal, not synching. Cleared the cache for the Email app, nothing changes. Restarted the phone, nope. It refuses to sync automatically.

Has anyone else had this happen? Any suggestions? I'm tearing (what's left of) my hair out trying to figure this out. It worked perfectly until the update, now it only syncs manually, which is not what I want.

Check the settings for whether it is allowed to run in the background.

Thanks for the suggestion. Checked that just now and it seems like it's permitted to run in the background.
A little deeper digging, looking at recent reviews in the Google Play Store for the app indicates a fair number of people are having the same issue as well, all since the weekend (glad it's not just me).

Sounds like I might have to go that way eh...a pity as I quite like it :(

Any recommendations/suggestions?

A quick update on this: after a software update overnight, it appears POP mail is synching again. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days to make sure, but it's looking like it's fixed - for now, at least.

Looks like it's stopped updating again.

Query - if I (somehow) roll back the version of the Samsung stock mail app to the last version that worked, is there any way I can disable updates on Samsung apps (only) so this doesn't happen again?
Note I'm not talking about Android updates in general (I still want those to happen), just not the Samsung stock apps.
