I bought my partner a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 40mm non LTE international version from Dick Smith and at the first screen it allows you to select English US or English Ireland or English UK or English Philippines but then after selecting any of these it takes us to a list of a few countries but Australia, UK, US or NZ are not listed only a few other countries.

Is this something that can be changed after or is this going to be a problem with using the watch?

What’s the firmware version on it? (Under About Watch->Software->Software version.)

Mine’s an NZ non LTE GW4 and its version is R870XXU1DUJA.

Some of our GZ telephony specialists may be able to tell you if the inability to select NZ will affect the LTE functionality of the Watch.

Indeed sounds like a "parallel import" and as such doesn't have NZ as an option.

You'll be able to check the exact model number (should be on the box) to confirm the LTE bands that are supported.

The OP already said it's the non-LTE version. I think the question is more about localisation than LTE availability, seeing the model does not have it.

This is the non LTE version, I care about the sensors on it being disabled or not since the NZ version has 1 or 2 sensors disabled that's why I got the international version.

Yeah I want to make sure what will happen if I choose a country, it the watch permanently locked to that country or can it be changed? does it really matter what country I choose?

My apologies read straight past the non part of the post.

I understand some countries don’t allow the medical monitoring parts of the Watch to be active. Out of interest, what are the ones not allowed in the NZ ones?

There is a straightforward procedure to enable blood pressure and ECG on both WearOS and Tizen.

This is the link for WearOS. There is no root etc required, just a couple of files to transfer to the watch. It only took me 15 minutes.

Cheers, Matt

Blood pressure shows on my Samsung Health App, but not ECG. (GW4 44mm, Galaxy Z Fold3). I didn’t have the BP active until this morning. I have a cuff so might compare a little later. Initial reaction is that it reads low.

Further to Matt’s post.

I have installed the Samsung Health Monitor Apps on my phone and watch. I used the BugJaeger ADB Mobile app to push the APK directly from my phone to the watch without having to faff about with ADB command lines from my PC

Make sure the files you install are for WearOS on the GW4 as both WearOS and Tizen are referenced in XDA.

Edit: redid the YTube link.

Found out that MightyApe sells the same grey market import (likely due to them being a subsidiary of Kogan), now I have to go through the returns process and wait until it goes on sale again... Misleading.

You have to calibrate it from a proper cuff once a month and it just uses.... magic
