Just noticed something odd ... when my phone is being charged and a TXT comes in, the phone will vibrate but there is no usual notification sound.  No problem as soon as unplugged from charger.

Is this normal?  Only explanation I can find is that perhaps the phone thinks that the USB port is being used for sound or file transfers etc, and therefore 'mutes' itself?

My Pixel 4a makes noises when charging, but I don't get old style txt much so I'm not sure about that. There's probably an option in the app or settings about this.

Does your phone go into Do Not Disturb mode while charging? That would explain the loss of sound.

I know that my Pixels (3a & 6a) have a night time charging mode that turns the screen grayscale and turns on DND.

If it was do not disturb then I wouldn't think it would vibrate either. Must be some other setting.

I have a vague idea I've seen a setting for this in passing somewhere in Android 10 (Nokia).  It could be part of bedtime schedules where I know there are some options for what happens when the phone is plugged in overnight.

Its a Motorola Moto E7 .... I've looked at various settings and the Manual.

It rings and vibrates and does everything else except sound for TXTs when charging 🤪

When I search for 'charging' the settings appear.
Otherwise look for, sounds and vibration, system sound/vibration control.
