SAMSUNG Galaxy S3 - no Phone sound?

Hello, I've got an S3 mobile phone. I mainly use text or wifi / Internet. But sometimes people actually call me (voice).

I've got the volume about halfway up, & can hear people if I call. However when people call me, there is no "RING", I only know I've got a missed call.

Is there an easy way to turn on the "RING" on incoming calls? and a way to STOP it (the ring) going mute after I set it?

FIXED  - my ring tone was off

Things to check:

  • if there is a pull-down menu, if there is, is the notification sound icon turned off? (its a toggle)
  • in the menu settings>sounds>volume and make sure the "notifications" volume bar is up?
  • make sure your phone is not in the silent mode, check this by going to Settings> Sound> Ensure the Silent mode is turned off.
  • check whether you have enabled blocking mode on your phone, check this by going to Settings> Blocking Mode> (if blocking mode is enabled) then make sure the Disable notifications option is not checked.
  • settings > my device > sounds > volume > make sure the slider for notifications is not set to minimum

Hopefully one of those might help

I was thinking the S3 was pretty ancient, but it's only 2012... still that's pretty old for a smart phone. My old S4 still works though! I have a custom ROM on it I think, I never use it.
