No, these don't work on XT Network. The XT Network is 3G only, these handsets seems to be 2G only. And clones. I wouldn't touch those.

If you read the specs for this phone it doesn't say anywher it's running Android. It is in a "clones" section and says "Google Android Interface", not "Android OS".

No, I think it's a fake.

Just reading all the way down the bottom of the page:

"Operating System: the device has a very innovative user interface and looks like the Android platform, truely state-of-the-art technology that will change the way you think about a mobile device? "

No, this is not Android. It's a fake.

I wouldnt go near any Sci-phones with a 10 foot pole. Shame on Engadget for detailing such rubbish. It's a rendered photo and the first thing i thought when i saw it was Touch HD. Looks like they've mocked up a Touch HD and done some photoshop work on it.

The chinese knockoffs have "pseudo" OS's. eg many are described as Windows Mobile but arent even close. They also generally dont have WCDMA radios but its possible, the cheap chinese manufacturers are catching up with newer technology. i very much doubt it would be running true android.

Granted that many knockoff phones arent too bad, but theyre never exactly what theyre described as, that's 100% guaranteed.

Rockchip are supposed to be working with android on their newer chips. That would actually be pretty sweet for the lower end of the market.

Yea you guys are probably right. "android interface only" sounds like a bad word.

I wouldn't mind buying from a manufacturer know for making clones if it had true android though.

I highly doubt it.... the below spec says it all

it says "OS: Android/Windows Mobile" <---- Yeah Right.

As i said before, these phones have quasi OS's that have the look and feel of Windows Mobile ... and now Android.. There will be people out there who will be stupid enough to get these silly sciphone knockoffs..

Its all a moot point if rockchip actually come through with the goods. If they actually get android running there will no doubt be a flood of cheap Chinese phones powered by them. If I were going cheap then thats what I would wait for. Or see how cheap the lower end htc phone ends up being.
