Hey guys,

Am currently waiting on my HTC Magic (NZ new from Vodafone) to arrive thanks to insurance!  I had a HTC Touch with Windows Mobile on it so Android is all new to me...

Just wondered:

1) What are peoples favourite Apps etc. on their Androids?

2) Any tips/things that you shouldn't add?

3) I am hoping to sync my email and contacts with Gmail which i hope will be nice and easy?! Can you sync with Outlook as well?

4) Has anyone found any good NZ GPS maps that will run on the HTC Magic? I was using TomTom Navigator with voice guidance etc. so hoping for something a bit more than Google Maps... and something with maps that I can download.

Cheers in advance.

4 no I am yet to find it

1 the must haves, I guess is facebook app
2 r00ting your droid I guess is the biggest hurdle but if you have familiarity with linux should not be hard.

Good luck, I do envy my wife's droid. Only if I had won two on the night lmao!

I just came across this article that talks about Sygic Mobile GPS Maps for Android... has turn by turn guidance and can be bought for Australia and New Zealand... look very similar to TomTom. Anyone tried them?

Cost is 59.99 EUR  (about NZ$120)
