I've seen videos of the HTC touch line running Android... Is the HTC Viva compatible? I brought one online and its being shipped as we speak, but I want to know as much as I can so its ready to be done when it arives... It has WM 6.0 / 6.1 i think, if android isnt possible, is WM 6.5 possible then? Thanks in advance

Not sure about Android, but WM6.5 easily:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=444

Plenty of WM6.5 custom roms available for flashing. Please see the guides on how to flashing a new bootloader (Hard SPL)  and once that's done, you'll be able to flash a custom WM6.5 rom of your choosing. Be warned, this will void your warranty, and if not done correctly, you may brick or render your phone irrepairable.

- Telstra HTC Touch Pro2 - Energy ROM WM6.5.5 20 Oct/Cyanogen Mod Froyo 2.2 - R.I.P
- AT&T Galaxy S Captivate 16GB on XT (now with brother)
- Samsung Galaxy S2 on XT- Runs ICS 4.0.3 Resurrection Remix 9.2
- Business Hours - Work In The Electricity Industry, After Hours - DJ/Turntablist - Will Scratch Vinyl For Free'
- What's next??? S3?

Is there like, an official way of doing this? direct from MS, or not?

I happen to read some posts about the official WM6.5 upgrades for the HTC phones, and i dont think there will be an official upgrade is available for the Touch Viva.

It wont be from MS, It would have to come from HTC. I suggest emailing them directly.

Android ROMs are made for the intended hardware, so you'd have to have a close look at the spces for the HTC touch Viva and see if they were identical to the HTC Magic.

I doubt it....but I haven't looked.

There are video's for it, and i think it should work, but there are just driver issues i think. google should make one for the touch series, would be a great alternative untill WM6.5 comes out. :D
