Im getting really dodgy 3g data performance on my hero of late.

It'll have at least 2 bars of 3g signal but when I go to do anything (gmaps, mail, MSN, browse etc) it will pause for a while/ages (no up or down data traffic arrows) and then start transferring data.(if at all)

Ive just takin it down to dunedin from wellington and it was crappy the whole way and the same to auckland the other weekend.

Im i using the right VODAFONE APN?

..............Or is the voda network just frustratingly crappy.

Try your sim in another 3g device first

I just tested my sim in my old N95. It seems to be pretty speedy on 3g downloading gmaps, mail, limited browsing etc.

I entered VF NZ internet, www.vodafone.net.nz as the APN and also included VFNZ GW live.vodafone.com..
Do i even need live.vodafone.com?

live.vodafone.com is the apn for the wap gateway including pxt

I haven't been able to get my hero to pxt anything OR work with the dataplan at all what have i done wrong or haven't done at all??

Are you prepay or postpay customer?

Have you migrated from prepay to postpay?

What are your APN settings, you should have two of them.

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

I have one apn that is just www.vodafone.net.nz and that is all

Does your SIM work in another device for packet data?

haven't tried... I don't have any other phone that needed data but my old samsung i could get on the internet with... I's also like to be able to pxt
