Has anyone tried the "hacked" navigation in NZ yet?

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

Yes. It mostly works.

Known issues:

1. The street you are on is "unnamed street"
2. The voice instructions either don't happen at all or happen too late.

It saved my bacon one late night on the way to / from the airport through maze of roadworks at three separate points.

But.....by comparison, the "Show directions" mode in the un-hacked maps shows your progress on the map as a blue dot and gives no audible instructions, though flags appear on the map with the next turn indicated. A front seat passenger can fill the gap. :-)

Oh, well without voice directions its not a lot of use I guess. Will just have to wait for Google to release it here :-)
