Kiaora team,

I've just ordered an HTC Legend (hell yes) from Expansys.co.nz for $849 NZ incl shipping, excl gst - however im not sure exactly how im supposed to go about paying gst for it once it gets here. Can anyone with experience with expansys offer me any advice on how this works?

Also I was unaware there were additional costs to consider i.e. customs costs etc. - are these significant? I have sneaking suspicion im not going to be saving as much money as I thought I would getting it from expansys (parralell Imported carries it for $999)...

Any help much appreciated!

Cheers

If it's being shipped by DHL/FedEx/UPS they will get in touch with you to make payment of the GST.

I don't believe they use regular airmail - if they do you'll probably get a letter from customs in the mail and have to go to a customs agent or customs to arrange payment of the GST and get the goods released.

About this time last year, I ordered an eBook Reader from Expansys and it cost NZ$700 or so.  Therefore I had to pay GST when it arrived, the same as you will have to.

Expansys sent my order by FedEx and their Auckland office called when it arrived and I gave them my credit card details over the phone to pay the GST.

Next thing I knew, it had arrived in the nearest town, ready for me to collect.  If you live in an urban area, they will deliver it to your door.  Everything went very smoothly, and I would definitely order from Expansys again.

GST is the only thing you'll have to worry about, as FedEx take care of everything else.

Having brought from expansys before, DHL (in my case) will ring saying that there is GST to be payed before they will release the goods.
