Wheres the cheapest and best place to get the latest HTC Desire from? I saw some on pricespy, but the one from Expert infotech is a slightly earlier revision, the A8181. That sells for $909nzd .. I'm wary of buying from overseas in case something happens to it. But then again, Australia isnt too far away to send an item, considering my iPhone had to be sent to the US and back when Dick Smith had to get it fixed. (took just under 3 weeks just to replace the unit).

Is it worth buying from an Australian shop instead?

I ordered mine last night from Mobicity.com.au, they seem pretty good in terms of their service and warranty offerings. And yeah i considered the distance factor as well and Aus isnt too far away :)

If you're going solely for price, i think Clove Technology has a pretty good price and the current exchange rate is is helping with that. A lot of people on this forum have bought theirs from here. However, last i saw they were out of stock, expecting more towards the end of June

Can anyone who has bought a Desire from einfotech confirm what locales the handset is packaged for (i.e. Europe, Asia, SE Asia) and whether it has Android Market access out of the box?

And whether the Mobicity Desire is for Vodafone/2D or Telecom XT?

There are two types of Desire at Mobicity,
The NextG Desire will work on XT while the other can work on Voda/2D

The expert infotech Desire has English (Netherlands) and English (Luxembourg) - doesn't seem to matter which you pick. Also does french, Deutsch, and nederlands... So it seems to be Europe. Or atleast MINE is, and I got it from einfo.

It has access to the Market, never had any trouble with that.

It also comes with a 4 gig microsdhc card.

Thanks for the confirmation on the Market access Brendan.

This news may affect the "cheapest place to buy an HTC Desire from?"
