Hurry up Vodafone and release the Desire! No one in any of the 3 Vodafone stores I went into today knew anything about it, hadn't even seen the press release!

The press release does say

Available now

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i (OS 1.6) $1099 RRP (RRP $999 on July15)

From July

HTC Desire (OS 2.1) $999 RRP
Sony Ericsson X10i Mini Pro (OS 1.6) $599 RRP
LG Optimus (OS 1.6) $399 RRP

so that could be anytime in July..

That was written in June so presumably means July.

Could be delayed due to the AMOLED shortages?

You'd think VFNZ staff would know something about the handset if release was imminent.. disappointing.

I would hope that IF they are planning early July release that Vodafone already have stocks of the Desire ready to go out the door...

SE X10 Mni should be in shops this week I was told by a sales guy at Glenfield Mall who usually knows what he's talking about.

I'm assuming the Desire may be close behind.

It's the 'other' Nexus One....and I like my Nexus One.

Apologies, a bit of a noob when it comes to Android devices...

Does Vodafone "Vodafonise" Android devices with their own firmware like they do with SE, Nokia etc?

I'd imagine they do...I know that the ones at Parallel imported stores often have carrier-specific splash screens at start up and certain apps for the carrier etc.

I just spoke to a salesperson in a Vodafone store and she claimed vf had put out a press release saying that there is not going to be a desire from vf. I couldn't see anything on the vf website. Has anyone else seen any new details since Paul Brislen's initial release?
