Just loaded this up. Anyone else using it?

I can see it has amazing potential, i just set it up to allow me to remotely switch on GPS via text message, and in combination with "Where's my droid" i'll be able to locate my phone if i ever lose it.

Also got it set to auto disable 3G Data and Enable Wifi whenever im at home or work (GPS location).

For those who have it - What 'tasks' do you have setup?

Sounds like something I best look at. I was wondering the other day if there was an app I could use to make things happen on my phone via txt messages....or whatever.

Its awesome. I keep discovering/thinking of cool things to do with it.

Get to work > Wifi turns on, 3G Turns on (backup for shaky wifi and if i need to leave work temporarily), Phone goes onto vibrate mode
Get Home > Wifi turns on, 3G turns off, Phone goes onto general profile mode

You can do application triggers to
Open Google Maps (or other GPS apps) > Auto Enable GPS
Open wifi scanner > Enable Wifi

Then text message triggers setup to enable/disable gps also.

I think i got a trial of it somewhere because i haven't paid for it yet, it says something about expiring in 14 days in the menu i think?

Finally got around to really checking this out properly during this week - loving it! Would highly recommend this to others, even taking into account the learning curve.

Thought I would share my most complex profile set up to date, others may find it useful (particularly previous S60 users who liked Flipsilent!). This replicates information that I had previously put into the SGS thread, but I really wanted to highlight this thread for people unfamiliar with this app (and know there are a couple of other new users in the forums who might appreciate a thread for troubleshooting and brainstorming).

When the alarm goes off, turning the phone over snoozes it, when it sounds again flipping it the other way does the same (repeat as many times as you like, although you could set a number limit, and then have it speak something to you like "GET UP NOW!" if you wanted). It stops altogether when the USB power cable is disconnected, and launches NewsRoom (morning paper delivery!). Wee note: this requires you to activate the alarm profile daily, I frequently need to change my waking time so I need this.

EDIT:
Have now tidied this up a bit with more elegant way to gradually increase volume than my manual entries there, will post it up if anybody actually needs it. Basically create a task in which volume is set as a variable, and then do a variable add if volume is less than volume X, then run that task from the alarm profile.

Just to resurrect this thread now that I have bought the app and want to get some use out of it.

Looking for good resources and some use experience.  Hopefully some downloads to import into it to save me some time.

All a bit overwhelming at the moment, I downloaded a few profile XML files for simple things like time based ringer volume settings but can't seem to utilise them and one for locating my phone if lost.

I have tried the Import function but it doesn't let me select them.  I found the files using Astro File Explorer and chose to open them using tasker ad they dissapeared after doing this so I assume they have been imported but I can't see how to use them once I open the Tasker App

I think to import them they need to be saved to the "Profiles" folder in the Tasker folder on your SD (it automatically displays those of mine that I have backed up to there when I select import profile from within Tasker).

I'm only pretty new to Tasker myself, but fairly comfortable already I think, happy to help wherever possible (gives me an excuse to get my geek on and play with Tasker, inadvertantly an entertainment app as well as a utility!).

I am still having issues getting some basic time based ones to work properly.

I can get it to turn on Wifi and open Gmail when I am near the house but I can't get Wifi to go off again when I am out of 50m range of my house. The GPS icon doesn't come on so it isn't looking at where I am. It is enabled but just not doing anything.

Also my gmail seems broken now as it won't display any messages in the inbox when I know there are new messages. I can look at labels and choose the "important" folder and see some but normally they would be showing in my inbox. I have a feeling this was connected to my end task for that profile killing gmail on exit.

Odd, annoying and odd

I am geting better at this but I still get baffled by a lot of it.

Have you set an exit task for your WiFi connection profile?

It shouldn't be neccessary, but sometimes explicitly setting an exit task helps things to run the way you want consistently...
