I understand that there may be a max image size that you can use for album art (when not wanting to use the embedded or tagged image). I have been googling for this without much luck but saw one reference to 500x500.

Can anyone shed light on this? If I do try to use an image larger than the limit, what happens - gets ignored, scaled/re-sized or ???

Not aware of any maximum size myself, most of mine are 600x600 though, no problems here.
