For those of us with a "spare" HTC Desire perhaps? NZTechFreak, still have your Desire? Wink

With a proper recovery image/ROM manager, you should be able to flash that custom ROM on it no problem.. if it craps out, just flash the old one back onto it. Although usually that requires wiping all your apps/user data..

Apparently that's a leaked ROM from HTC, so probably hasn't been tested properly and still has the watermarks, etc on it.

UnitedWeFall: I flashed the Madaco version (http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-desire-desire-modaco-com/313149/09-jul-r4-wip-modaco-custom-ro.../)

Works fine :)

How does it compare to 2.1?

Didn't notice a hell of a lot of difference to be honest. But it's a leaked version so I guess the final HTC version will be better.

The watermarks have been removed from the MoDaCo & King releases of the Desire 2.2. The only real benefit in FroYo over 2.1 is the JIT compiler that speeds some processes up, which should be useful for the SenseUI. There's a few nice little tweaks here & there though, but I think Sense makes a lot of them moot.
