hah - I installed this on my Magic last night!

My only grumble about this ROM is that the Gallery is the 3D one, and takes *forever* to load anything :(

The first time it runs, it looks for all images on your phone...and makes a thumbnail of every last one of them.

That can take a long time on a Nexus One....never mind an HTC Magic.

If you can let it just happen, the next time you open the 3D Gallery, it reads the thumb cache and loads (relatively) more quickly.

Best way to avoid that is keep the number of images on your phone to a minimum. As few as you can sustain without missing out entirely on the joy of imagery you like. A compromise. Your call.

You can also try using PhotoBurst Pro. It's paid app, but is generally faster than 3D Gallery.

What all of these "galleries" lack is a way to manually select what's in them and what isn't. That's the biggest app I see in Android's image-handling repertoire.

Battery life on CM 6.0.0 RC3 seems *greatly* improved.

In my first full day on the new ROM my first battery made it to 23:45 and was still on 13%. I didn't need to use the second battery.

I tend to be a constant user of the phone. If not data, then I have the scren on doing *something*. I don't think I've *ever* seen a totally full day, end-to-end, like that on my Nexus One (they way I use it).  Maybe I just used the phone less....We'll see what happens today.

CM 6 RC3 - Day Two.

No errors at all other than one icon being reset to generic default ("Gesture Search") on the Home screen after a shutdown / re-boot. Oh...and Live Wallpaper seem to re-draw only partially after exiting the video camera. That one is more noticeable. Easily fixed, though.

Finished yesterday - midnight - with first battery on 45%. Used 3G data during the day frequently for short periods, including a few minutes as an AP for my M001 tablet so it could access the Market. For some reason work wifi won't let Market apps download, but tether to my phone and they download fine.

Two data points. Looks like the battery life in RC3 is as good as I've ever seen it. The 3G data connection is faster, too...and switches more quickly between wifi and 3G at appropriate times.

Interesting. I've been hoping to hold out for a final release but i'm not sure how long that will be... RC3 seems like it might be good enough for my first tasted of froyo.

It all seems to work. Maybe I haven't stumbled over subtle stuff. I have not attempted to use an VPNs. But WiFi, 3G and bluetooth all work fine. Sound is good. This was an issue in RC2. Not now. Video is good. I espeically like the 720p HD video capability that has been added.

I have not attempted to use the Playstation emulator (psx4droid) on RC3. The sound was really choppy on CM6 RC2, but worked perfectly on a rooted stock Froyo. But I'm kinda over playing Playstation on my phone. The screen is too small, even at 3.7". It's a phone. :-)  I've tried to like games on iPod Touch and my Nexus One....but most serious action games are just too big for the small format. "Jewels" and "Toss it" are more the phone-mode sorta game.

Overclocked to 1.076GHz I notice the phone is faster and more responsive. Almost crazy now.....as it was always fast and very responsive.

Rock and Roll.

RC3 all installed. No major hiccups, just a few minor ones with app reinstalls and when i restored data after already opening apps up things got a little squirrelly. Nothing that wouldn't happen in any other similar situation.

Found a few random occurances. Trying to pull the app drawer icon up the screen makes the ADW Launcher dock disappear. And coloured LED notifications won't work without a third party app even though the settings are all ship-shape.

Only used it for a day but so far find no big difference in battery and i've overclocked it too so that's good.

I had the 720p video installed on the old stable CyanogenMOD and i thought the RC3 came with it pre-installed but when i try to change the video resolution i don't see a 720p option. I wonder if i need to install the apk again. Shrug, no biggie, didn't take many videos anyway.

Can't wait for RC4 and maybe some FM radio...

I do a complete wipe every time I load these things. I re-install all apps fresh and set them up again.

The 720p video camera is there. I didn't have to add anything. I start the camera, switch to video mode. The touch menu on the screen has a "high" option at lower right, down by the on-screen shutter button. The detault was "High, 30m". This takes 720p video.

As for the app dock, I touch the hatched square and the dock appears. At the bottom is a house. I touch the house and the dock goes away. That's how it's supposed to work, as far as I know.

I had the same problem as Disrespective in that trying to pull or swipe the Applications Drawer's handle/icon up causes the Drawer to disappear. The solution (if it is even a problem - seems to be a built in quirk for some reason) is to swipe down (same pressure and speed as the swipe up) where the disappeared Drawer handle/icon used to be. Start where the icon usually is and smoothly slide down and that brings the App Drawer back from limbo.

Caused me no end of frustration and I randomly happened upon the solution.

abidnaqvi83, yeah i figured that one out too. And if you want to you can actually put apps on the blank area that appears when you swipe upwards... It's a 'feature' heh. Allows access to quite a few apps from any screen too.

As Disrespective said its a feature.   If you don't like it it can be diabled by unchecking Settings > ADWLauncher > UI Settings > Dockbar
