This phone runs Android v2.1 (say some - but GSMArena says v1.6), has FM radio support, MS Exchange Active Sync and plays DivX videos....and lots more.

Looks like an awesome package for the price.

Cons appear to be small-ish 3" screen, 320x480,  apparently low internal storage (130MB?) and no infomration anywhere about what processor is used in it.

ARM6 or 7?

It matters.

Comes with 1.6 installed. Have been working with one for the last week. I found the screen a bit "sticky" at first (after taking off the plastic protection), but it's grown on me and the screen isn't so sticky anymore (although it's no N1).

Thanks, Julius. The icons and launcher have a "2.1" look about them that is surely intentional...so without actually seeing the phone, it's hard to tell...and there appeared to be conflicting information, with the phone demoed at CES in April (supposedly) running Android v2.1....

You're welcome - I thought it was a bit crappy to start with but I think it's actually a pretty handy device if you're not a power user, but might want a few apps like mail, some GPS and so on. It's also not big. It has a very plastic, light feel to it too rather than the heavy sort of feel you get from a Hero or N1 (heh or G1 for that matter!).

I think for the money (and being a locally available unit) it's pretty decent value!

I just got one of these for $330 through First Mobile, they had a online special on Friday, i ordered it Friday afternoon and was delivered just before Monday lunchtime you cant complain about that.

My experience of this phone so far is very good, it is nice and smooth no lag at all that i have seen, i think it is a good size it sounds small with only a 3" screen but it is a nice and usable size in your and and is not too big in your pocket, i am very happy with this phone so far and you can definitely not complain for its price.

I have read that LG is releasing an update to 2.1 at the end of September

Here is a useful forum with some interesting bits and pieces;

can u use ur finger pad to navigate or do u have to touch with the edge of your nail?
I might have to check it out in the shop, i've never used a non capacitive touch screen before.

$269 on a plan from first mobile is very cheap too... tempting! - although the $330 special for phone only sounds even better, shame it's no longer listed at that price on the website.

It's a touch interface. There isn't any dpad though (as far as I could find anyway).

it works well using the pad of your finger, sometimes even better than using your nail

@julius - i meant pressing the pulp of ur finger (aka finger pad) onto the resistive touch screen.

@jimmy - cheers, good to know

i think i want one, i bought a Galaxy S for my friend (she paid me back ;-) but i prefer smaller phones and didn't want to drop $900 on a new phone. will have to check it out in the shop.
