Few specs:
We've got Android 2.2 running on a 7-inch display, video calling, Swype, HD movie playback, "Flash support," GPS navigation, an e-reader, and plenty more.

Damn it's looking good!!!! Those clean lines, all depends on the price now

Yeah I've spent way too much on my Galaxy S accessories, new PC parts and was thinking of ordering the Kindle too :(   We should start a geekzone lottery pool :)

I got to (briefly) have a play on one of these overseas a few weeks back.

for me, it beats the iPad in every way. I much prefer the screen size too.

Swype is pretty sweet too.

Definitely looks nice. The screen size is quite good. Though I think bigger tablets will be popular too, thats really a personal preference.
Good thing about 7 inches is that it can be used as an oversized GPS.. putting an ipad on the windscreen is a bit over the top :)

The resolution is still at 480x800 ?
That is a bit of a shame... needs a better resolution for good web surfing I think.
You really need a resolution of 1024x768 I think for it to be good...
I think I'll wait a bit until they mature a little...

480x800 looks good on the M001 7" displays. That res is about right if you're going to use your fingers to drive stuff.

Not too sure who said that?  but there are various rumours around screen size:

Samsung's Galaxy Tab has a 7-inch screen, and although one rumor suggested a mere 800-by-480 resolution, a more recent report from Chinese-language Web site ifanr -- complete with photos -- says the actual screen resolution is 1024-by-600. The tablet can be held in one hand, if your fingers are long enough (grab a CD case around the shorter side to get a general feel).

I'm hoping it'll  be the 1024x600, either way it's going to look good with the SAMOLED screen :)

really rate the 7" screen, the iPad is just too large, rather carry a netbook round of the 10" size

1200x600 would be much nicer... It would have been a shame if its 3 inches bigger than the phone and no increase in resolution.
It just got more attractive again :)

Found this, doesn't show a lot but mentions that the screen could be 1280 x 720

http://www.techdigest.tv/2010/08/more_samsung_ta.html

"While the P1000XXJH3 firmware doesn't state whether the screen will be OLED, Super AMOLED or LCD, it does reveal the maximum screen resolution to be WVGA at 480x800."

That would be a pity, will still be nice but not as nice if it had the higher resolutions mentioned.
Higher resolution makes a big difference..

I think it's all too hard to speculate since I also got this:

Thanks to the firmware we have more technical details about the Galaxy TAB:

- Screen resolution 480x800.

Update xda-developers.com believes that 480x800 pixels is wrong. They pointed the resolution to 1024 x 600 pixels.

Guess we'll only really know on the 2nd September late at night....

Infact from that thread:

It's looking a bit more likely, 1024x600 I can handle, more than likely replace my Netbook..well relegate my netbook to my Cisco training :)
