Hi all!

I have been a member for a long time but totally forgot I was registered until recently, when I started contemplating purchasing an HTC Desire,

I took the plunge and acquired a Desire and it is a A8181 T-mobile branded version and honestly I am wanting to debrand it and so forth but it is all rather confusing for me as I am not really an expert on such matters (Not yet anyway!).

I have been browsing these forums for a good three weeks now and I still am in two minds on whether I should do this myself or get someone else to do it for me who actually knows the process without feeling lost like I am!

Hey,
You probably want to use Unrevoked3. I found it was easiest to simply do this from linux, as windows requires installing various drivers etc. Linux simply requires one command and its done.

One thing thats worth mentioning is you have a SLCD phone. This means you need a compatible boot loader. Someone else will be able to advise what to use.

Its not all that daunting. But perhaps if you post up your approx location, maybe another desire owner will be nearby and will be able to help ya out.
