I'm thinking it's NOT quadband:

Networks HSDPA 7.2 Mbps / HSUPA 2 Mbps
3G (WCDMA) 850/900, 1900, 2100 MHz
GSM/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz

That leads me to believe it's EITHER 850,1900,2100 OR 900, 1900, 2100.

Either way, the 850 version would still work happily enough in urban areas on VF as well as being the ideal choice for TCNZ

It would be no different to an iPhone 3G or 3Gs in that regard.

The same phone is much cheaper without the Ferrari livery.

Is the Ferrari look you're really after?

Check out acer.co.nz -> Products -> smartphones -> Acer Liquid E (not farrari) then click on "where to buy"

I also note there is an Acer Be-Touch E400-C2 running Android v2.1 for $561 incl GST at PB Tech. Looks like it has the same processor as the HTC Hero (Qualcomm MSM7227 @ 600Mhz)

Not a bad price for that phone brand new.

Completely agree...as said - the TCNZ flavour would tend to suit more people in NZ.

No.  The link to it came in a sales email and I wondered if anyone had  any experience with it.. Plus the one at PBTech will not work on XT though it is a good price..

The phone does work in most parts of Auckland on the XT network. However, if you want to travel Vodafone is better with the 2g support also. I have been using it on Xt and its pretty good, get up to 4Mbps down and 2 up on XT where good coverage is present.

No, Telecom have rolled out 2100 to some locations, i've found it to be adequate for the greater Auckland, even as far as Dairy Flat, down to Papakura. It's not perfect, but if I need, i swap my Vodafone Sim into it.
