Apparently ... I need to trawl the LG site to find it but a few users have reported upgrading to it and its a faster phone as a result :

If I upgrade to Android 2.1 on my phone does it mean I lose all my applications etc ?  Do I lose anything ?
If so, is there a way to backup and restore prior to performing an update ?

cheers

In the worst case you can just re-download your apps from the Market. No charge for the ones you've already paid for.

I use AppMonster pro to back up the APKs. I don't mind re-installing and setting up again.

Titanium backup is supposedly very good, but no way would I back up on 1.6 and restore to a fresh 2.1 system. That's begging for trouble on both knees.

You won't lose your data. It's on the sdcard and won't be touched.
