Have a play. It's in the Market. Free. Wifi and 3G supported. No video calls.

Android v2.1 or later required.

Won't work on Samsung Galaxy S (it installs, but you can't login - verified by me, btu also reported).

Also won't work on HTC Wildfire (screen's too small).

One story on it is here

Very limited handset support at this stage, I'm sure the rest will follow soon. Will get it on my Desire and have a play, shame about no video though, thats mostly what I use Skype for.

Not overly impressed with it so far. Can't exit without force-closing it. Huge install (10+MB app + 3MB it seems to need). They've got a fair bit of work to do! (HTC Desire running Leedroid 2.1a)

OK, just found out that it does work for my JPK 2.2 firmware on the Galaxy S (where install size is irrelevant, we have 1.8GB!).

EDIT: Confirmed, works for me on my GS. You can exit the app by going into your info and signing out, bit counter-intuitive, but works.

I downloaded it on my Legend. Unable to sign in. Doesn't even try, i.e. happens instantly. Looking at some reports and the Legend is meant to work.

It won't work on Motorola Milestone either. As you said, it installs but you can't login. From that point of view, useless.

Also, tried it both over WiFi only, and 3G, so certainly not an operator's problem.

Something is wrong on the backend there, people who were previously able to sign in (on a variety of handsets, including those that are definitely supported) are now reporting they can't (like me). Their launch has become a bit of a debacle really...

A mess.

They will sort it out. Meanwhile, Fring works perfectly on all platforms. Just have to get more of my contacts on to it.

It's packed up for me too. Looks like they have a fair bit of work to do.

Installed and signed in on my XT N1 fine, tried to sign out and found that in the stupid 'info' section and now it won't sign me back in.

Shrug, never planned on using it much anyway.
