Has anyone else seen this phone and thought it looks pretty sweet?

There's a first look here:
http://www.pocket-lint.com/review/5004/htc-desire-z-first-look

And benchmarks here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MM2e60r8DKg

Surprisingly it gets 57.6fps in Neocore which is faster than a Samsung Galaxy S. Thinking of selling my SGS to buy one of these now.

I also am hoping we will see this phone over here. According to GSMArena it's 900/2100, however Bell Mobility in Canada have confirmed they are releasing a version, from what I can see their hspa+ network is 850/1900. Anyone know anything on this? If they get an 850 version then sweet for us! Challenge would be for Telecom to launch a new phone in a timely fashion...

I'll be waiting to buy mine until it's confirmed that the G2/Z can be rooted :|

I think it's only the T-Mobile G2 variant that can currently only be rooted temporarily. US Providers have a lot of control over what goes on their phones and like to control things.

I was actually wondering about that, my understanding is one of the reasons 2100MHz is used in cities is it is better able to penetrate builds than 850/900MHz.   Would this have much of an effect on XT coverage for those of us stuck in office buildings?

Bands aside the handset looks like the best thing available at the moment, construction is supposed to be good and 3.7" is the best compromise for screen size IMO

Telecom also use 2100 in some cities, its fairly useful in Auckland region. Not sure on the building penetration, I know that Vodafone has been working to improve the penetration of its transmitters in the last few years.

I think it's the other way around.  The lower the frequency the better the penetration.
