Are they serious? What a joke! This is a mobile app not a PC app! Considering the storage capacity on most Android devices already in use this is just crazy.

I have an extra half a gig to install to on the Desire thanks to a custom mod so installing isn't out of the question. Surely initial load time will be affected as well? Must be hard on resources all around.

I have a total of 837MB for apps on my Samsung Galaxy S after splitting the 1.8GB of internal app space with the One Click Lag Fix (OCLF V2.1.2). So space isn't an issue.

But! Firefox 4 beta runs **incredibly** slowly on my Galaxy S. I''m still running Android v2.1. Haven't had time to try to sort out Odin and the JPK Froyo.

Completely unusable.

Turns it from a smart phone into a 'on-respirator-near-death' phone.

I have yet to load a single page in it. The screen goes white....and I have to wait a wee while before I can get back to Home and kill it with a task manager.

Yea I used it on my Milestone and it was slow. The pages rendered all pixelated. Looks like there are some nice features in it though, but still a way to go until it is usable.

I'm running JPK and it's fine on the Samsung Galaxy S. I thought I had the same problem as you with the white screen (after running it on a few sites first), then I scrolled to the right and you get a view of the number of tabs you've got open. The white one is a tab. It's not dead :-)

Now to figure out how to use it. It's not very intuitive, or maybe my brain is having a lazy Saturday afternoon.

Ooops, picked up the wrong bit to quote. Yep, lazy Saturday afternoon brain.

Okay, got it sussed. Created a Sync account (add-on in Firefox PC) and got it talking to my phone. The tab things works fine, in fact it's nice. Easy to bookmark (swipe to the left, click the star). And of course being FF, you've got the option to save your passwords nice and easy.

The pixilated thingee, yes it's there, but then expand the page and after a second it comes right as it readjusts.

I'm using Opera Mini and I'm not finding FF any less responsive than Opera is. And now that I've read the FAQ's and whatnot, it is intuitive, you just have to understand how it's designed first. I say go for it!

It's crap :( But I will reserve final judgement for the final release (where I hope the size is substantially smaller)

Ouch

While I agree FF is a ridiculous size iirc Dolphin Browser is just a wrapper for the standard rendering engine and Opera Mini relies on the Opera servers to do much of the page rendering. You can't really compare their sizes to a full-blown stand alone browser
