Here is the thing. Milestone from Telecom is waaaaay over priced. So I'm planning on buying a Milestone from trademe importers. I did some research, found out that Milestone has a serious reboot problem. It just reboots randomly every once in a while. Maybe once or twice a day, the worst case I have seen is every couple of minutes!

Some of these users fixed the problem by changing their sim cards. According to them, Milestone has compatibility issue with some sim cards. But others claim that it still reboots randomly without sim card and sd card...

Any body have Milestone on Vodafone Supa prepay? Do you have the similar problem?

Cheers

I've had my Milestone now for just on a week and it has not displayed the auto-reboot problem you've described. I'm on XT

Using it nearly one year now, it did reboot when doing some heavy tasks when it was 2.0, but after upgraded to 2.1-update1 it doesn't auto-reboot anymore.

Around 2~3 months back my brother bought a Milestone. At first it worked really well, but one day it rebooted randomly. What's even worse is that it somehow gets stuck in a bootloop. The only way to fix the bootloop was to reflash the firmware. But after a few days it started happening again.  I'm not sure if it's an isolated case. He did not root the phone and installed no more than 10 apps, it was pretty much stock ROM with very few apps and customization. He was so disappointed with the phone that he eventually returned it after about two weeks since purchase.

Did he try using the phone with *no apps* installed? did he try installing one app at a time and using a few days?

I wouldn't consider most apps great miracles of software engineering these days. Any bad coding could lead to this kind of problem.

Thanks, everyone :)
I'll get my milestone next week. Hopefully I won't have this problem...

谢谢啦
Ur brother should have tried firmware version SHOLS_U2_02.34.3 from HK. I did some research, people say that this is the only firmware can fix this reboot problem.

I don't think he tried it with no apps installed, but if userspace apps can cause system reboots, or even stuck in a bootloop, something is very wrong. I've heard of hangs, occassional random reboots, but not stuck in a bootloop from normal user, at least I haven't heard of such cases on other phones.

Declan: Please let me know how well Milestone works for you, I'd still like to know, although I'm more leaning towards HTC Desire HD right now.
