Hey there.  I've searched Geekzone and found a few threads that listed Vlingo.  One even had people saying how useful it was, and easy to use.

I'm sure it is.  But there's not one command I give it where it gets it right.  I even had my husband try some of the commands (thinking it didn't like a female Kiwi accent) and it didn't work for him either.  It was reminiscent of Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear and his hate relationship for SatNav in the Mercedes Benz.

Those of you who use it and love it, what have you got in your settings to have it accurately recognise the commands you're speaking?  It sounds like a fabulous application but it's pretty useless when it doesn't hear what I'm saying.  TIA

Use it in my car but it does struggle when the car noise gets too loud and of course radio/indicators/passenger noise will all stop it working. However have found it better than voice dialling app native to Android. I don't have a kiwi accent though, more Zimbabwean/English/Kiwi hybrid :-) If you are trying to use it speaker phone mode, it will get better if you speak as close to the phone as possible.

Have you tried Google Voice Search (from the Market not the same as the built in Voice Dialer)?

Works fine for me.

I use Google Voice Search as well. It works fairly well sending txt "Send text to John Meet you at Starbucks"....dos pretty much what it says.

I set it to Canadian English.....which works best for me.
