It will be bringing an awful lot of changes, and will be installing it in a couple hours. Woohoo FM support at last.

I installed it yesterday on my nexus one and its running smoothly, no errors yet. Very fast too. Still yet to see if my battery life peaks past 24 hours though.

I did a wipe install too.

I currently have the latest LeeDroid on my Desire, is it worth changing horses; is there any benefit to CMod over what I have?

What is the best way to back up all my apps and data including game stats before wiping. I really don't want to start Angry Birds all over [again]

I have found Titanium Backup to be excellent for app and settings backup. While the free version is pretty good in its own right, the donate version is best for full system backup/restore as it gives you a batch mode (you don't have to confirm each and every app install as in the free version).

You can also use it to uninstall troublesome pre-installed apps such as bloatware that never get used, or remove those such as Youtube that are now in the market.

Chucked cm6.1 rc1 on the other day on my Nexus One, it is great, running really smooth. No FC's. upgraded from nightley 224.  FM Radio works pretty well too.

I am thinking of trying a different modded ROM and thought I would try this one but was wondering if I am able to back up my data so it includes things like my Angry Birds progress and ChompSMS settings etc.

I assume that any apps I am using will require complete re-installation and there is no way to back them up in their installed state and simply restore them on a different ROM.

Thanks.
With regard to installing CM, is it just a case of using ROM Manager to install the CM Zip file via the ROM Manager recovery menu as I did with LeeDroid?

By settings do you mean remove my google account from the phone or are there other settings I should clear also?

This is from the CM changelog

** Note on Email update: This requires a one-time wipe of application settings.

Not sure if it requires the wipe of your google account setting or just you email app settings.
