I just got my PB Tech friday email....and they're selling Acer BeTouch E400 Android phones with Android v2.1 for $299+GST ($344-ish).
That's a pretty good price......Amazing, really, considering what you can do with one of these phones. They support wifi and GPS...so for turn-by-turn Nav (Maps [brut]) alone it's cheap.
I might buy one just for the hell of it. Had a look last weekend and they looked like tidy wee units - 3.2" screens.
...and then we also have the 2degrees Huawei U8150 IDEOS for $379 running Android v2.2. Even better.
This is cool to watch. Cheap smart phones for everyone/anyone who can get their head around them....(which will prove to be the ultimate limit on uptake, I suspect).
