I thought Google were quite clear that there will be no Nexus Two, but if this latest development turns out to be true, I think I'll be getting it instead of the Desire HD.

I fully agree with the writer:
"I’m totally ok if you don’t believe this report, but do yourself a favor and wait two weeks to see what happens. I would hate for you to purchase a new phone in the next couple of days and then be major disappointed when you find out something new just dropped."

Yeah, I posted in the SGS thread. It seems possible, I'm hoping it's true as it could make the SGS much better long term.

Samsung has just denied the rumors on an upcoming Samsung-made Nexus Two (a.k.a. Nexus S). As it turns out, the event on November 8th is actually dedicated to the Verizon-exclusive Continuum dual-screen smartphone.

Denying rumors is what companies typically do...

I agree that Samsung will not be annoucing the Nexus 2 for a couple of reasons.

1. I would imagine it will be released by google as it was for the NExus one and i wouldnt be suprised if it was sold through there online store again.

2.  I don't think Verizon would be to happy having the continuim announced which is to be released on there network followed by samsung annoucing the nexus 2 which again will surely be unlocked.

As for Gingerbread version number, im guna go with 2.3 for gingerbread. As i think 3.0 will be for a more significant upgrade like scaled higher resolution version of android.

Why should Verizon care?  They have a CDMA network and the Nexus 2 will most likely be be GSM and WCDMA only..

I'll sit on both sides of the fence.....

The samsung product will have 2.3

And Google will make some statement at/around the launch giving better clarity to their path they see the Android platform going. It has so much traction in the market now I'd like think they see the benefits of stabilising the market expectations for firmware upgrades.... if only because the hardware vendors say... ya can't go changing the rules as quickly as you have cause its costing us

Good point regarding bands but i still reckon if the continum is to be released, verizon would be against  NExus two being released at the same event as it would surely put the continuim into the shadows very quickly.
