Anyone had any experience of the x5a Tablet.

I know its difficult to tell what make model some of these emerging tablets are due to all the unbranded packaging and items but this unit appears pretty good compared to the spec's of others.

Hey,

I am currently looking at buying one of the HSG x5a tablets, have you heard anything about them yet? I can write a little review after I get it if you want?

Pretty similar to the Haipad 701's that pbtech are flogging. I've got a 701 and it's nice, however it needs a little more power, gps, bluetooth, and 2.2

There are some coretex based 2.2 tablets on trademe now for $350ish. Personally - after cutting my teeth on the 701 - I've got my eye on something like the Huawei Ideos S7 or Aigo N700 - or something of that spec.

Yeah they seem quite nice, but for me, HDMI is a must-have as I want to be able to use the tablet with a monitor/keyboard/mouse as well as on the go.

Yeah bit the bullet and ordered one.
Hoping it gets here this week.

Not sure about the reliability of some Trademe sellers.
A lot of auctions get withdrawn by the site admins.

Found a source from China.   Will advise if it arrives.

buyadroid - X5A

That guy seems to be very dedicated to customer satisfaction and sourcing the right products.
I was ready to pull the trigger on an XPAD from him but ended up getting my Samsung Galaxy S when it was on special. A few week later, the XPAD was pulled from his store due to issues but he still supports the people he sold it to.

I can say I got a unit thru Buy A Droid and have had no problems.

But then again - Do your research, know what you are busy.
Most importantly set your expectations with the price tag.

If you want a high performance unit - dont bother.
But this is perfect for ebook reading, casual browsing and a few time wasting apps.
