My phone receives emails coming to my xtra email address - no problem. But when I try and send an email, it shows up in my Outbox but not in the 'Sent' screen i.e does not send.

Would be grateful for advice on reason and on how to check settings etc. Thanks.

Edit: I now see that under General Settings in the email app, there is a heading called "Default account - Send email from this account by default" with a green tick-box, but the heading and the green tick are greyed out and I can't make any changes. What does this mean? Cheers

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

You may receive through Xtra, but you'd have to send via the SMTP server operated by the carrier.....or someone who will let you send via an external network.

I may be wrong, but last I heard Xtra don't allow people on external networks to send mail through their mail servers. This was one of the first anti-spam measures back when spam was inconsiderate people with a strong sense of entitlement.....and not organised crime.

I had this problem sending email to mail.orcon.net.nz on XT and 2D data sticks until someone in GZ suggested using smpt port 587 rather than the default 110 and it worked fine.  If that's an option see if it works..
